the fswb story
As a Community Development Financial Institution, our mission at First Southwest Bank is to cultivate valuable relationships, invest in economic and social doers, and foster a well-lived rural Colorado culture.
Serving the San Luis Valley and rural Colorado for more than 100 years,
we offer personal and business banking at our six branches stretching over 300 miles, with an emphasis on businesses supporting rural communities.
Actively living in and giving back to our communities, our team volunteers with more than 40 local organizations, and donates to over 115.

"Banking isn't always exciting. But it's something we, at First Southwest Bank,
feel can create a positive effect in the rural communities where we are located
— Durango, Cortez, Pagosa Springs and the San Luis Valley. Our rural Colorado communities are very different, while very much the same. Our goal is to unite the Doers of rural Colorado, to work together, have a greater impact and achieve more — making life in rural Colorado well-lived. If you like our thoughts and our ideas, bank with us, and share your ideas on the community impact you want to see. We're in it for the long haul. Why? Because there's no better place to live, work and play, than rural Colorado."
